Services & nexus opinions

Understanding the connection to service.

The focus is your mental health, the relevant evidence, and the clinical question behind your VA disability claim.

Is this the kind of question you have?

Your interview and relevant records help address two kinds of questions.

Direct service-connection questions

Is a current mental-health condition related to military service?

Secondary service-connection questions

Is a mental-health concern related to a service-connected condition? The opinion follows the evidence.

A little background, when you need it.

What is a nexus opinion?

A nexus opinion explains whether a condition is related to military service or an already service-connected condition, and why.

The conclusion may be favorable, unfavorable, or limited by the available information. No diagnosis or conclusion is promised.

How does this relate to a VA examination?

A private evaluation provides additional clinical evidence. It does not replace a required VA Compensation & Pension examination. The VA decides the claim.

A consultation clarifies service fit, not whether an evaluation is legally necessary or how the VA will decide.

Scope matters.

What we evaluate

Mental-health concerns, including possible psychological effects associated with tinnitus, chronic pain, knee problems, or shoulder problems.

What needs a different route

We do not evaluate physical injuries themselves or provide TBI diagnosis or TBI-related cognitive testing. A history of TBI, mixed concerns, or an eating-disorder request starts with a consultation.
